Time Out will be completely revamping the interior of the heritage building to make space for 14 kitchens, four bars and a stage for live performances, along with seating for 750 diners, both inside and outside on the quayside. Expect to see local Cape Town chefs and mixologists wielding their magic, once Time Out opens at the V&A in late 2023. Time Out tailors each venue to reflect the culinary and cultural trends of the chosen city, gathering the best of the best under one roof. But the individual markets are not just identikit roll-outs. It became an international sensation, with notable success stories following in New York, Miami, Chicago and Dubai. Replacing the old V&A Food Market on the quay overlooking Table Mountain will be the Time Out Market, which began life in Lisbon in 2014. Some of SA’s top chefs set up shop at the vibey new gathering spot.
